Mission Statement

Perplexity Pictures is a Colorado-based independent film, video and multi-media production company dedicated to exploring the art of combining entertainment value with deeply embedded moral truths. We intend to explore the power that unique cinematic devices have in sharing ideas with the universal viewer. Our goal, stated simply, is to create, inspire and enlighten.

History

Perplexity Pictures was founded in April 2009. From the outset, we have been striving for versatility, professionalism, interdisciplinary use of multimedia elements, and a wide range of subject matter. It’s been our goal to achieve the perfect relationships between every role on a film set. Our first film, Glitch, set a strong basis for our exploration and it only grew from there. To date, we’ve made nine short films (narrative and documentary),  two music videos, and a web miniseries and we are only in our infancy.

Future Plans

The future goals of Perplexity Pictures rely on the intersection point between art and marketability.  By adding the production of music videos, promotional videos, advertisements,  commercials, documentary and reality television to our repertoire – all with a focus on the human experience and societal concerns – we hope to expand our experiences in this art form and move into the commercial marketplace.

The Team

George Kotelnikov
Co-Founder

Filmmaker. Photographer. Actor.

His real name is Egor Vladimirovich Kotelnikov. He was born in Almaty, Kazakhstan in 1990; moved to Denver, Colorado 11 years later and became interested in the art of filmmaking soon after. The ability to communicate ideas and emotions through body language and facial expression on film particularly fascinates him. He specializes in purposeful composition, camera movement and visual dynamics, which is why he is pursuing a career as a Director of Photography. His ultimate goal is producing an exceptional product while remaining open minded during the process. George is privileged to lead the very talented Perplexity Pictures team alongside his partner, Sinjin Jones.

His favorite films use dialogue sparingly and inspire deep thought.

Sinjin Jones
Co-Founder

From a young age, writing and acting out stories for the neighborhood with his siblings, Sinjin knew that storytelling was the thing he wanted to spend his life doing. Through high school it was using writing, performance poetry, and theatre and through college film added into the mix. But the main focus has always been on trying to tell unique and interesting stories through multiple mediums. Sinjin thrives on creating under any circumstance and enjoys the challenge an independent production company offers. He looks forward to creating with the astonishingly talented group of people Perplexity boasts as members and he cannot wait to see the next creation.
